30th November 2024: Dear members of Lyricalconstruct,
Back in my dorm room at university, in early 2000, I began an academic project that would eventually turn into this website. I took great pride in putting this together, seeing as I did at the time a "gap" online for a place to share personal lyrics. Back then I was a big lyric writer, spending much of my time creating music and singing my own words. This gave me the fuel I needed to bring this project to life -- I always wanted a home to share my lyrics and get feedback and for others to be able to do the same. So much has changed over the course of the last two decades; the Internet has exploded and there are so many ways to share information, including our creative endeavours. In my own life I unfortunately never found the time to pay LC the attention I really wanted to after about 2005. I had grand visions for turning it into a much bigger platform with a focus on doing everything possible to encourage lyricists to use it on a regular basis, but I simply didn't have the time or resources to make that vision a reality. So, with a heavy heart, I have decided after all these years to close the book on lyricalconstruct.com. The site will close officially on 11th April 2025 and will no longer be accessible on the public Internet. I'd like to thank every single one of you for visiting and using the site and for sharing your lyrics. The site will be active for a further 4 months. During this time, if you wish to take copies of any of your lyrics from the site, please visit, login and do so, using standard copy and paste functionality and saving them elsewhere. If for any reason you're struggling to login and access anything, please do drop me a line on admin@lyricalconstruct.com and I'll respond as soon as I can. Best wishes, Ian

The Comment is King
Hopefully most, if not all of you, will by now be familiar with how to view and
add comments to lyrics you view on the site. It's your means, as a fellow
lyricist, of putting your point across. More and more of you
are commenting and more often than ever before. It's great to
see the community spirit building! That's why we've just made some minor
adjustments which should hopefully make the commenting process that little-bit
more enjoyable. Comments are now located towards the bottom of each
and every lyric you view. The same format applies: Add a new comment and reply
to comments at will. Check it out and let us know what you think by
contacting us.
