Information we collect

When you register with Lyricalconstruct, you are required to provide some basic personal details such as your full name, age and sex. Then, as a user of the site, you are entitled to submit your own personal lyrics, comment on other users' lyrics and create and maintain your own user profile, which contains additional information on your person. ANY information you submit is collected by Lyricalconstruct and stored on a database owned by the host - Fasthosts (www.fasthosts.co.uk.

Logs

Please be aware, for the safety of users and to protect the integrity of the site, a log file is kept to keep track of user activity on the site - such as when you login or logout, or when you write a lyric.

How is this Information used?

SOME of the data collected is used to identify you when you visit the site - both to administrators of lyricalconstruct and to other registered users. Any persons granted administrative rights to the site will be able to view any data you submit. This includes everything from your name and country, to any lyrics, comments, ratings, etc., that you submit.

Any of the data you submit to the site might be used for establishing statistical information, for example, to calculate the number of users who are female, to calculate the average user age, or to calculate the number of lyrics in a given mood or category.

Some of the data you submit can be modified and / or deleted at any time, without prior notice being given to you (the user).

This includes:

  • Any profile information which is deemed inappropriate or offensive
  • Any lyrics deemed to be of an inappropriate or offensive nature
  • Any comments deemed to be of an inappropriate or offensive nature

User abuse and user account and other information deletion (including lyrics, comments, profiles and ratings information)

If a user feels that he or she is being unfairly treated by another user of the site, he or she is entitled to report such abuse to any administrator of lyricalconstruct. It is then up to the Administrator to inform the abuser of the abusee's claim. Following this, any offensive material that is not removed by the abuser within a period of 12 hours, will be subject to immediate deletion by an authorised member of lyricalconstruct. If the abusee reports that he or she is receiving abuse from the same abuser THREE TIMES and an authorised lyricalconstruct member can see proof of such pessistant abuse, the abuser's details (including all lyrics, comments, ratings , etc) will be deleted from our files without prior warning.

What are you doing to protect my information?

Any information you submit, as mentioned above, is held on a database. This database is held on a database server which is the property of Fasthosts.co.uk. Lyricalconstruct has made every effort to implement effective security mechanisms within the web site application, but has no control over (and no knowledge of) any security mechanisms that are put in place by the hosting company Fasthosts. In short, lyricalconstruct is doing the best it can to protect your data, but will not be held responsible in any way for the theft , copying and any unauthorised modification or deletion of data.

Is any of this information passed on to Third Parties?

No. None of the information you submit to lyricalconstruct will ever be given out to any third party. However, if there ever arises a need to pass any information on to a third party, nothing will be passed on without your explicit consent.

What about information you might give to me (the user) ?

When you login to lyricalconstruct a small piece of data called a cookie is sent to your browser and is stored on your hard disk. This cookie is used to identify you as you move around the site during a browsing session. This cookie is deleted at the end of each browsing session. However, when you login, you also have the option to ask lyricalconstruct to remember your details so that you don't have to go through the login process every time you visit the site. In this case, the cookie will remain on your hard disk so as to identify you for any site use and so you don't have to go through the login process.

Newsletters and confirmation Emails
